PowerChips, a specialized technology division of IT Development Systems, London, United Kingdom, are pleased to announce their recently introduced range of `Golden Finger'.

PowerChips, a specialized = technology=20 division of IT Development Systems, London, United Kingdom, are pleased = to=20 announce their recently introduced range of ‘Golden Finger’ = devices, the=20 PowerChips PowerCharger range.

These devices significantly = boost the=20 performance of an Athlon CPU, typically, current Athlon 500’s = (which are=20 basically 650 MHz cores) are able to run stable at 750–800 = MHz.

The PowerCharger is a professionally = designed and=20 manufactured high quality PCB. It is extremely easy to install, all that = is=20 required, is that a notch needs to be made to the Athlon casing, or = casing=20 removed altogether, and then the PowerCharger is inserted onto the = exposed spare=20 Athlon edge connector.

Absolutely no soldering or = moving/removing Athlon=20 SMD resistors is required.

The PowerCharger is the smallest, most = reliable and=20 best value for money card on the market. It measures just 70mm x 25mm = and is=20 priced at $ 65, including worldwide shipping.

The PowerCharger, in common with all = Golden Finger=20 devices, are derivative designs, based on Dr. Tom Pabst’s = ‘How to make an Athlon=20 overclocking card’ article. We have taken this initial design as a = base, and for=20 reasons of safety and reliability, have added our own refinements. Our = product=20 has been extensively tested in the field for reliability, allowing us to = offer a=20 full lifetime replacement warranty.

There are three products in the = range.

  • Standard PowerCharger – full user control of CPU multiplier = and voltage.=20 CPU range is 500 – 1050 MHz and voltage range is 1.45V – = 2.05V.
  • PowerCharger FlatPack – identical to the standard = PowerCharger, but with=20 the PCB mounted horizontally making it ideal for ATX cases where space = is at a=20 premium. This is the only product of its kind on the market = today.
  • PowerCharger Passive – an entirely passive device which uses = 100 ohm and=20 1K ohm resistors rather than 56 ohm resistors, thus eliminating the = need for=20 ‘pull up’ resistors. This device acts exactly in sync with = the Athlon CPU=20 internally and is not being ‘forced’ to change state or be = electronically=20 stressed whatsoever.

PowerChips has an established 5+ years = trading=20 history and has the full financial backing and support of a = well-established UK=20 Limited Liability Parent Company. We have many ‘blue chip’ = clients including=20 Chase Manhattan Bank, GEC, A&A, British Aerospace, Mercedes Benz and = Siemens=20 PLC. Our staff is highly qualified and skilled and we offer a high = quality=20 premium pre/post Sales support service.
