     Fri, Jan 28 2011 | 12:01P | Video Cards | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
"Not everyone can afford the highest specification, fastest graphics card though and for that reason, less than a month on, NVIDIA are launching the GTX 570. On our test bench we have a model from Inno3D which is factory overclocked and we will be putting it through its paces in a selection of real world tests which include Black Ops, Stereoscopic 3D gaming, GPU Computing, Blu-Ray 3D playback and we will even throw in a quick look at 3DMark 2011 Professional."

Steganos Privacy Suite 12
     Fri, Jan 28 2011 | 9:03A | Software | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
“Steganos means "hidden" or "covered" in Greek. Where encryption transforms a message so that it can't be read without a key, steganography hides the fact that a message even exists. Steganos Privacy Suite 12 bundles several privacy tools that can both encrypt and hide your sensitive information. The core encryption features are very well implemented, but some of the ancillary features just don't work.”

AMD Athlon II X3 455: Unlocked hidden Phenom
     Fri, Jan 28 2011 | 9:02A | CPU / Processors | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
The Athlon II X3 455 happens to be one of those processors. On the surface, the X3 455 is only a triple core. However, hiding in the shadows is a sleeping core and cache that has the possibility to be accessed. The X3 455 comes with a stock speed of 3.3GHz. There is a max TDP of 95 watts. In continued AMD fashion, the X3 455 is a 100MHz step up from the X3 450. The Athlon II still remains AM2+/AM3 compatible. Stock settings give 1.5MB of L2 cache."

Clever drive cage system
     Fri, Jan 28 2011 | 9:00A | Hard Drives/SSD | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
"The 912 HAF is a sturdy and rugged mid-tower case that is full of hard angles and bold corners, giving this case quite the military appearance in that 'no-nonsense', 'I can eat a tank round' manner. Don't let that fool you however, as this case has quite a number of features that I would have only expected in a more expensive full-tower case."

Evercool HPL-815 Low Profile Heatsink Reviewed on Frostytech.com
     Fri, Jan 28 2011 | 12:14A | Cooling / Heatsinks | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
www.frostytech.com

Bottom line, if you're in need of a sub-60mm tall low profile heatsink for a 2U sized PC chassis, the Evercool HPL-815 heatsink will do the job suitably at full fan speed. In fact, of all the sub-60mm low profile heatsinks Frostytech has tested the HPL-815 ranks 7°C cooler (at 4000RPM fan speed) than the next best thermal solution.

HIS Radeon HD 6970 2GB Turbo Video Card
     Thu, Jan 27 2011 | 4:03P | Video Cards | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
I've always liked the Turbo series from HIS. It's not my favorite series from the company, with me personally being a larger fan of the iCooler series, but more importantly the iCooler Turbo series which carries the benefits of an upgraded cooler and benefits of that pre-overclock. What the Turbo series offers us, though, is quick to the market pre-overclocked cards, because as just the "Turbo" series and not the "iCooler Turbo" series, the model carries with it the reference cooler which ultimately means that all HIS need to do is find a stable clock speed."

Lian Li is well known for their high qualitiy aluminium comptuer cases but despite this the PC-X2000FB is something else. Even within all the beautiful cases Lian Li offers the X2000FB is special. If one likes to say so, this case is their flagship model.

ASRock P67 3-Way Motherboard Roundup
     Thu, Jan 27 2011 | 4:01P | Motherboards | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
“We're looking a three P67 motherboards from ASRock, known for producing motherboards to suit modest budgets. New for the P67 lineup are the Transformer, Pro3, and Extreme6. Each of these boards share some similarities but also differences, and one board is particularly innovative, bringing the P67 chipset to the previous-gen 1156 socket.”

Corsair Graphite Series 600T Mid-Tower Case
     Thu, Jan 27 2011 | 4:00P | Cases | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Then came the 600T. It was aimed at the individual that was looking for a smaller case, but still had many of the features of a bigger case like the 800D. What few features it did lack due to the size difference, what the 600T has that the 800D does not is a more stylish and elegant front bezel, not as simplistic as the front bezel of the 800D.

Their new venture started a couple of months ago with the Colossus case with many of the initial reviews focusing on the original black model. However, like many manufacturers, BitFenix are also offering a white version of the case and it is that model which we have on our test bench today."

     Thu, Jan 27 2011 | 12:01P | Video Cards | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
"Sapphire rarely does anything half-heartedly though and the focus of today's review is their take on an enhanced 6850. This is more than just a new cooler and factory overclock though as they have completely changed the product to enhance its performance and overclocking potential. Read on to find out how it performs in real world gameplay with the latest games, including Call of Duty: Black Ops, F1 2010 (DX11 patch) and Medal of Honor. Of course our usual content is also covered including 5760x1080 testing (with videos and screenshots), Blu-Ray 3D playback, AMD HD3D gameplay, GPU computing and a section on just how far we could push the Toxic."
